William “Bill” Curtis Mowery, 72, of Charleston, TN, passed away on December 29, 2021 at Nathan Adelson Hospice, in Las Vegas, NV.
Bill was born on May 4, 1949 to Glen Elmer and Edmonia Elizabeth Mowery in the beautiful county of Bradley, TN. After graduating from high school, he felt the call from the big city and moved to Chicago, IL, where he pursued many business ventures. It was there that he met and married the love of his life, Lola Mowery, in 1976. They had two children: William Jr. and Mary Ann Elizabeth.
After the passing of his wife, Bill moved to Las Vegas. He celebrated life each and every day. Bill never shied away from an opportunity to share his love of Elvis, the Good Word, or life in Tennessee. Bill was a historian: not only was he committed to documenting his genealogy, he made sure his grandchildren heard his story so that family traditions would always be remembered and honored.
Bill is preceded in death by his wife, Lola Mowery; parents, Elmer and Edmonia Mowery; and his brothers, Jack, David, and Frank Mowery.
Bill is survived by his sister, Joan James; his son, William Jr. and his wife Flor Mowery with their four children: Natalia, William, JohnPaul, and Olivia Mowery; and his daughter Mary Ann and her husband Cory Gallagher. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held in Tennessee for family and close friends to reminisce, grieve, and support each other. The wake will be in the evening of January 20th and the funeral January 21st.
