Virginia "Ruth" Brackett

Virginia “Ruth” Brackett passed away Sunday, October 8th, 2023 at Union General Hospital.  She was known for Mother, Nanny, Sister, Aunt and friend to many. She was a member of McCaysville United Methodist Church. Ruth enjoyed fishing and going camping.  She loved being with her friends and family.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Clifford Edward Ward and Flora Rebekah Kimsey Ward; daughter, Gloria Diane Ledford; three sisters, Evelyn Jackson, Betty Cook, Nina Campbell; and brother, Roy Ward.

Survived by her children, Debbie Chastain (Bud), Robin Zimmerman (Randy); grandchildren, Jennifer Watkins (Matt), Mathew Chastain (Jenny), Melissa Witcher (Dan), Melody Sizemore (Josh), Randy Zimmerman (Tiffany), Jeff jones (Danielle), Joel Jones, Jeremy Jones (Allie) and many great grandchildren; brother, Kenneth Ward (Judy); and sister, June Everett.  

The family will be having a memorial service at a later date.
