Virgil “Bud” Stoops, age 80 of Cleveland, passed away at his residence on Wednesday, December 19, 2018. Born on March 16, 1938 in Parkersburg, West Virginia to the late Frances and Audrey Stoops, He had lives in the Cleveland area for the last 30 years and was a veteran of the United States Air Force. He was employed as an air traffic controller and went on to become a boilermaker at a nuclear Plant and was known to his co-workers as “Radar”.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Peggy Sue Snyder Stoops.
Survivors include his children, Brenda(Ricky) Anderson, David Stoops, and Jimmy Stoops all of Cleveland; grandchildren, Renee Brown, Samantha Anderson, Dustin Anderson, and Daniel Stoops; great- grandchildren, Corbin Brown, Jackson Richmond, and Everleigh Thompson; and brother, Mike Stoops of Jonesville, Louisiana.
A Graveside service will be held at 1p.m. Sunday, December22, 2018 at Hilcrest Memorial Gardens.
There will be no formal visitation at the funeral home.
