Timothy Forbes, 64, of Cleveland passed away Thursday, April 28, 2021 at Tennova Hospital. He was a proud veteran of the United States Marine Corps, serving at the end of the Vietnam War. He had the personality of never having met a stranger. He was a brilliant man, scoring a perfect S.A.T, and retired from United Stated Government as a Civil Engineer. He loved helping people, even when his help wasn’t needed. He enjoyed making everyone laugh, was a major history buff, and a walking dictionary. “Pop” enjoyed the History Channel, Pawn Stars, How it Works, and Antiques Road Show.
He was preceded in death by parents, Thomas “Tom” and “Granny” Jean Forbes; step-father, Allan Lenio.
Survivors include wife, Karen Purdy Forbes of Cleveland; daughter, Christina “Joseph” Blizzard of Denton, North Carolina; sons, Thomas Forbes of Cleveland, Joshua “Trina” Meyer of Cleveland, Andrew Meyer of Cleveland; brother Ted “Leona” Forbes of Saint Johns Island, South Carolina; grandchildren, Belle, Lily Blizzard of Denton, North Carolina, Caleb, Cody, Collin of North Carolina, Kaylee, Chloe, Kayden, Colton Meyer of Etowah; and many friends.
Celebration of life will be Monday, June 7, 2021 2:00 p.m. at Chattanooga National Cemetery, with Reverend Joe Brooks officiating along with full military honors. Interment will follow in Chattanooga National Cemetery.
