Robert C. Thompson Jr.

Robert Charles Thompson, Jr. age 80 of Decatur, Tennessee passed away on January 28, 2025. He was born in Chattanooga to Robert (RC) and Ruth Thompson. He spent most of life in the Red Bank, Cleveland and Decatur, TN area.

Mr. Thompson was preceded in death by his parents and his nephews, Chris Merrell, and Brandon Thompson. 

He leaves behind his four children, Tammy Estep (Darrell), Cleveland, TN., Missy Crow (George), and Scott Thompson of Chattanooga. and Jeremy Thompson (Ashley) of Ringgold; seven grandchildren, Ryan Estep (Stacey), Cartersville, GA., James Crow and Evan Thompson of Chattanooga, and Ryan, Peyton, Noah and Sahiyena Thompson of Ringold; two great grandchildren, Amelia Estep and Baby Estep due in July; two sisters, Nancy Merrell (Wendell) Chattanooga, and Elaine Gray (Allan) Birmingham, AL; one brother, Thomas Thompson (Jodie) Dayton, TN; several nieces and nephews and cousins.

A private memorial service will be planned for a later date. Special thanks to Gentiva Hospice for their care and to Poole-Serenity Funeral Home for managing the arrangements.
