Ray Stewart, 74, of Sale Creek, passed away Monday, February 7, 2022 at his home. He enjoyed being outdoors, hunting, fishing and tending to his garden. Ray loved talking to people and telling them stories. He loved being around horses, cowboying, he was very proud of his heritage, being half Cherokee Indian. More than anything else he loved his children and grandchildren.
Preceded in death by his parents, James and Dicie Stewart; ten siblings, Edna, Ethel, Innis, Reba, Shirley, Verley, Larry, Alta, Azalea, and two infant siblings.
Survivors include wife, Johnnie Stewart of Sale Creek; sisters, Roxie, Evelyn; daughters and sons-in-law, Jan and Tracy Aslinger of Sale Creek, Gwen and Roger Porter of Fruita, CO; sons and daughters-in-law, Kendall and Martha Stewart of Tellico; Tim and Stacey Stewart of Villanow, GA; daughter and son-in-law, Kellie and Mike Cochran of Madisonville; daughter, Katie Young of Madisonville; son and daughter-in-law, Shaun and Keri Smith of Ringgold, GA; several grandchildren; one great-grandchild; many nieces nephews and friends. A special thanks to Amedisys Hospice Courtney and Krystal.
Family will have services for Mr. Stewart Saturday, February 12, 2022 at 3:00 pm at Macedonia Baptist Church in Tellico Plains,
