Norma Sue Davis Coppinger at 82 years old passed away on November 15th. Norma was born in McMinn County, and grew up later in Bradley County. She was the daughter of George T. and Elsie L. Partain Davis. Norma attended Bradley High School and was a member of Maple Street Baptist and Wesley Memorial United Methodist Church.
Norma was married to Gary M. Coppinger and had one daughter, Georgia Annette Coppinger Frost, two granddaughters, Carly Brice Frost and Carissa Davis Frost, and son-in-law Craig Frost.
Norma worked for many years at Coppinger Color Lab and the well-known Portrait Shoppe as well as General Photographic Resources Inc. She was the life of every party but especially loved to throw her own, she loved to go line dancing and listen to anything Elvis Presley sang. She had a love for sports and enjoyed to attend the University of Tennessee football games. She loved to play basketball in her younger years and later found her love for softball in her adult life, and she also enjoyed going to her granddaughter’s softball games. She was an avid bowler and loved to bowl. She was a member of Beta Sigma PHI and served as President of the chapter for a number of years. Her favorite thing however was to be surrounded by her friends and family.
She was preceded in death by her parents. George and Elsie Davis; brothers, Charles, Curtis, and Calvin Davis; and sister, Mazelle Davis Long.
Funeral will be held Saturday, November 18, 2023 at 12:00 p.m. at Wesley Memorial Church with Pastor Chris Rouser officiating.
The family will receive friends at Wesley Memorial Church prior to the service at 10:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on Saturday November 18, 2023.
Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
