Mark Eugene Davenport, 62, passed away peacefully, with his loving daughter April by his side, on Monday, April 5, 2021.
He was born September 8, 1958 to Buell and Rheda Davenport. He graduated from Tyner High School, in the class of 1976, where most of his friends knew him as “Diddy-Wah-Diddy.” After high school he joined the Marine Corp. and was able to travel the world. He was a member of East Brainerd Church of Christ.
The happiest times of his life included raising his daughter, April, who was the sunshine of his life, also helping raise his step-daughters.
He was also known as Birdman, because of his Yellow Crested Cockatoo Parrot, Baby. She was more so his companion than a pet and went everywhere with him.
Mark was an avid music lover, and often said that “Love and the love of music makes the world go ‘round.” He enjoyed feeding and watching the birds. He loved all animals and would feed all that he came across in his life. Horses, dogs, cats, lizards, etc.…
Mark was preceded in death by his mother and father, Buell and Rheda Davenport; brother, Gregory; and grandson, Kyler Brett Bowman.
He is survived by his daughter, April (Bart) Bowman; step-daughters, Kristin (Michael), Jessica and Nicole; grandchildren, Candice, Dakota, Joshua, Lola, Maggie, and Carrick; siblings, Mike (LaRhonda), Gary (Terry-Jean),Terry (Faye), Jennifer (John), Bo (Deanna), Janice, Joyce (Stan), and Joel (Anna), and many nieces and nephews.
