Larry Keith Simcox, age 63 passed away Friday, January 24, 2020 from a long extended illness. He was born in Rockwood, TN and moved to Jasper, TN at the age of twelve. He was a long time resident of Jasper, TN before moving to Cleveland, TN. Larry was a member of North Cleveland Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his mother: Anna Sue Simcox, his adored aunt: Joyce Plemons and his beloved dog: Smokey.

Survivors include his father and stepmother: Solon and Susan Simcox; his son and daughter-in-law: Brian and Lisa Simcox; his granddaughter: Anna Paige Simcox who was his pride and joy; and Faye Simcox.

Larry loved life and brought a smile to every person he met. He was generous and caring.  He spread happiness to all who met him. He lived life to the fullest and accomplished so much in the time he was given. He played sports for many years; football in high school and later competitive softball, leading both his teams to championships. He previously held the offices of mayor and county commissioner of Jasper, TN.

He was a member of the Jasper Jaycees and Lion’s Club. For many years he officiated high school and college basketball and hosted a Sports Talk Show with former US Attorney Bill Killian called “TIME OUT”. As a Jaycee he was awarded the honor of “Outstanding Young Tennessean”. He had a contagious joy that left anyone he met with a smile. He was always helping and giving to others. It is hard to meet anyone who knew Larry that does not remember a story that brings a smile to their face as they tell it and it is a joy to see the wonderful memories Larry left them with. Everyone is welcome to join us as we to say goodbye to a man larger than life.
