Kathleen Smith

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Kathleen Smith.  She died of the age of 82 on February 14, 2022, at her home in Cleveland, Tennessee.  Kathleen passed peacefully with her surviving son and his wife by her side.  Kathleen was born December 23, 1939 in Gadsden, AL.  Most of her life was spent in the Atlanta area until her retirement, then she relocated to Steel, AL, then to Cleveland in her later years. 

Kathleen was a simple person with a big heart.  She was always the first to offer help to anyone in need, she had a caring soul.  Her stories about her childhood with eight brothers and sisters kept everyone entertained.  A few things that Kathleen enjoyed, other than her grand and great grand kids, were her trips to the casino and playing bingo.

She is preceded in death by her two older sons, Rickey Smith and Ronnie E. Smith, Sr.

Kathleen is survived by her son, Randy Smith Sr. (Patricia); seven grandchildren, Tara Grier (Billy), Laruen Marion, Ashley Smith, Brad Smith (Courtney), Randy Smith Jr. (Kimberly), Ronnie Smith Jr. (Katie) and Alex Smith (Jenna); brothers, Eugene Higdon (Jewel), Jerry Higdon (Birtie); sister, Virginia Hagwood (Bob).   She was also the proud great grandmother of seventeen children.
