Iris Ruth Fox, 95, a lifelong resident of Cleveland passed away Wednesday, May 5, 2021 at Decatur Wellness Center. She enjoyed volunteering at nursing homes in the area also at Walmart. She was employed at Wendover Airforce Base in Utah during the war where she made ammunition. She had survived polio, and was a great cook and softball player in her day. Granny was known for her baking, especially pies and her peanut butter cookies, more than anything she loved her family. Mrs. Fox was a notorious Rook player.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Shannen and Augusta Huff; husband, Clarence Fox; grandson Edward Geren; son-in-law, Herbert Geren; sister, Hazel Morgan.
Survivors include daughter, Patricia”Pat” Geren of Cleveland; one sister, Evelyn Albritton of Cleveland; granddaughter, Pam (David) Ledford of Cleveland; granddaughter-in-law, Kandy Geren of Cleveland; eleven great-grandchildren, Chris, Autumn, Justin, Danielle, Patricia, Bethany, Bryan, Todd, Travis, Eric, Melody; eleven great-great-grandchildren, Laura, Somer, Lila, Riley, Hannah, Christina, Kyler, Mya, Anakin, Kayley, Jase; nephew, Don (Charlotte) Albritton of Cleveland.
A graveside service will be held on Sunday, May 9, 2:00 pm at Hilcrest Memorial Gardens officiated by Dr. Todd Geren. Pallbearers will be, Travis Geren, Eric Geren, Chris Tate, Chris Ledford, Casey Lattimore and Justin Ledford.
