Gertrude Helen Adkins

Gertrude Helen Adkins, 75, went to be with the Lord Tuesday, January 18, 2022. She was born in Erlangen, Germany and came to the United States as a child, where she eventually settled in Etowah, TN with her loving husband. Gertrude had many talents and loved to sew, paint, draw, cook, shop, and be surrounded by her family and dogs.

Gertrude is preceded in death by husband of 43 years, Billy Joe Adkins; mother and father, George and Gertrude Franklin; daughter, Tammy Blackstone; mother and father-in-law, George and Juanita Adkins; sisters-in-law, Linda sue Browning and Dorothy Collins.

She is survived by daughter, Lisa (Allen) Carson; son, Billy (Jennifer) Adkins; sisters; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews; brothers-in-law; special friends, Jackie and Leo.

Gertrude’s family will forever cherish every memory and story, ever shared with her; she will be greatly missed.

The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. at Serenity of Cleveland Funeral Home Saturday, January 22, 2022. The funeral service will be held at 1:00 pm in the chapel of the funeral home the interment will follow in Cookson Creek Cemetery.
