Eugene "Pap" Robert Shamblin

Gene "Pap" Robert Shamblin , 84, of Old Fort, departed this life on Saturday, September 28, 2019 at his son’s residence. Gene retired from Olin Chemical. He enjoyed playing cards, working in the yard, and spending time with his family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Bonnie Shamblin; sister, Margaret Smith; brothers, Junior Shamblin, Houston Shamblin, David Shamblin and Bill Shamblin. 

Survivors include his sons, Richard (Barbara) Shamblin of Old Fort, and Gary Shamblin of Cleveland; grandchildren, Brian Shamblin of Georgia, Angela Shamblin of Cleveland, and Warren Langley of Cleveland; sister, Edna (Floyd) Wade of Cleveland; brother, Kenneth Shamblin of Charleston; long-time companion, Vivian Price; several great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and other extended family.

A Celebration of Life and Home Going will be on Wednesday, October 2, 2019 at 3:00 p.m. at Serenity of Cleveland Funeral Home with Pastor Doug Bell officiating. Interment will follow in Hillcrest Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends from 5:00-8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 1, 2019 at the funeral home.
