Dorothy Cooke Bivens, 102, of Cleveland, passed away Sunday, October 27, 2019. She was preceded in death by her husband, Elmer L. Bivens; parents, Fred and Marie Wickers Cooke; five sisters, Christine Cooke, Thelma Cooke White, Margaret Cooke Rymer, Deloris Cooke Taylor and Florence Cooke; three brothers, Lawrence Cooke, Walter Cooke and Johnny Cooke; and one sister-in-law, Roberta Cooke.
Survivors include one sister-in-law, Louise Cooke of Cleveland, and several cousins, nieces and nephews.
She was a resident of Orange Park, Florida for many years. She was an active member of Orange Park United Methodist Church, Art League of Greater Jacksonville and the Flamingo Garden Club.
Upon moving to Collegedale, Tennessee, she became an active member of Tyner United Methodist Church. Later, she moved to Cleveland to be nearer to family. She retained her membership at Tyner United Methodist Church.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, October 30, 2019 from 1:00 – 3:00 p.m. at Serenity of Cleveland Funeral Home.
A Celebration of Life Service will be at 3:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will follow in Hillcrest Memorial Gardens in Cleveland with Pastor Glenn Moseley officiating.
