Dolores “Nano” Ellis, age 89 passed away Friday, May 28, 2021 at Parkwest Medical Center in Knoxville. She was a life-long resident of Cleveland and a member of North Cleveland Baptist Church. She loved her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, enjoyed cooking, and her domestic capabilities were beyond reproach. Dolores enjoyed working in her yard, planting flowers, watching cable news, and studying local and national politics.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Cecil Allen Ellis; mother, Estelle Messer; two brothers, Charles and Don Messer.
Dolores is survived by her two daughters and sons-in-law, Brenda “David” Allen of Lenior City, Judy “Tony” Lennon Cole of Knoxville; grandchildren, Jason Allen, Jennifer “J.J” Brown, Ryan Lennon; great-grandchildren, Tucker and Cooper Brown, Makenzy Lennon Perone, Cole Byrd, Chelsey Byrd, Shawn Cole.
Graveside service will be held 2:00p.m Wednesday, June 2, 2021 at Sunset Memorial Gardens, officiated by Pastor Joe Brooks.
A white dove release and the playing of bagpipes will conclude the service.
Grandchildren and great-grandchildren will serve as pallbearers.
