Christopher Michael Humphries

Christopher "Chris" Humphries, 46, of Cleveland, TN died in the arms of his mother and wife on May 16th 2021 at Tennova Hospital in Knoxville, TN after a courageous battle against cancer. Chris and Heidi were married for 15 years and have four children together. Chris' love for his children was endless. Chris had a master degree in Ministry from Carson Newman College and had recently graduated with another master's degree in education from Lee University. Chris was proud to serve his community as a teacher and a reserve Deputy with the Bradley County Sheriff's Department for many years. Chris loved fishing, hunting and watching Alabama win with his brothers in Christ and lifelong buddies. He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Billy Humphries, grandmother, Eleanor Humphries; Daughter, Jurnee Rebekah Humphries; Step father, Charlie Nichols and Cousin, Jeff Yarber. Survivors include his wife, Heidi Humphries of Cleveland; children, Kaylee, Brodie and EverLeigh, all of Cleveland; mother, Nancy Nichols of Cleveland; brother, Chad Holcomb of Cleveland; step brothers, James Nichols, Donnie Nichols and Richie Nichols, all of Cleveland; uncle, Steve Humphries; aunt, Kathy Humphries of Minnesota and several cousins and many friends. The funeral will be held at 7:00 p.m. in the chapel following visitation with Pastor Allan Lovelace officiating. His family will receive friends on Friday, May 21 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Serenity of Cleveland Funeral Home. The service will be livestreamed.
