Boyd Alvin Wilson, age 93 of Ocoee, passed away on Friday, December 21, 2018, at Signature Healthcare in Cleveland. Born on May 8, 1925, in Jackson County, Alabama to the late Charlie and Lillian Wilson, he had lived the past several years in the Cleveland area and was of the Church of God faith. He was a proud veteran of the United States Navy serving during World War II and loved farming and spending time with his family.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Aileen Wilson; and brothers, Bedford Wilson, Earl Wilson, Ed Wilson, and Abe Wilson.
Survivors include sons, David Wilson of Polk County, Gene Wilson of Cleveland, and Ronnie Wilson of Polk County; sister, Jewell Odom; daughter-in-law Frieda Wilson, six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, and other extended family also survive.
A Celebration of Life and Home going for Boyd Wilson will be held at 1p.m. Thursday, December 27, 2018 from the chapel of Serenity Funeral Home with Pastor Gary Farris officiating. Interment will follow in Hilcrest Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends from 5-8p.m. on Wednesday, December 26, 2018 at the funeral home.
