Billy Gene Vandergriff

It is with great sadness that the family of Billy Gene Vandergriff announces his passing on Thursday, April 16, 2020, at the age of 73 years.

Bill will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 25 years, Belinda; his brother, Ronnie (Janice); his children, David, Terry, Kristie, Sheralee, Mindy (Andy), Shanae, and Megan (Chad); and 19 grandchildren.

He was predeceased by his father, William (Bill) and mother, Louise.

Bill graduated from Hixson High School, class of 1964, and was well remembered for his skills on the basketball court. He worked many years at DuPont and then found his calling by helping many members of the community as a Alcohol and Drug Counselor. During his retirement, Bill was quite the fisherman and spent as much as time would allow casting a line in the water. He greatly enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren while passing down his life experiences to them. 

Due to the social distancing orders in place, a celebration of life ceremony will take place at a later date and announced via Facebook.
