Beulah Mae Murphree, 98, passed away October 3, 2019 at her home surrounded by her family.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Gainus Murphree, her parents, Mr. and Mrs. A. K. Wheeler, one sister, Grace Golden, and her son-in-law, Wayne Howell, all of Cleveland, TN.
She is survived by her daughter Gaye Murphree Howell; her grandchildren, Candice (Ronald) Patterson, Christopher Howell, Joshua (April) Howell, Jessica Howell, Kayla (Jacob) Gray, and Caleb (Tiffany) Howell; and 13 great-grandchildren, Micah, Elijah, Judah, Kaedon, Aubanie, Lexi, Aly, Aiden, Charis, Kallie, Mallory, Kason, and Devin, all of Cleveland. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Beulah Mae was born May 17, 1921 in Canton, GA. She moved to Cleveland when she was 5. She was a graduate of Bradley High School and attended McKensie Business College. She and Gainus were married on September 10, 1948. She was a member of North Cleveland Church of God for 93 years. Beulah Mae retired as the head bookkeeper for the Church of God General Offices in 1990. At the age of 12, she knew she wanted to be a bookkeeper and her calling was to serve her church in that capacity. She worked at the Church of God General Offices for 51 years. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, October 5 at 1pm at Serenity Funeral Home, with a visitation preceding from 11am-1pm. The burial will be a private ceremony.
Memorials may be made to North Cleveland Church of God or Living Word Church International.
