Barbara Myers, age 81, of Cleveland, departed this life on Sunday, September 1, 2019 at a local healthcare facility. Born on November 21, 1937 in Arkansas to the late Fred and Lucille Watkins Johnson; she had lived a majority of her life in Bradley County and was a member of Wesley Memorial United Methodist Church. She was an active Christian being very involved in her churches over the years, Tasso United Methodist, Calhoun United Methodist and Wesley Memorial United Methodist. Barbara very much enjoyed watching the Lady Vols, volunteering at the hospital, working jigsaw puzzles and spending time with her family.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Wayne Myers; and brothers, Johnny and Jimmy Johnson.
Survivors include her children, David Myers of Bothell, Washington; Janis Kincannon of Cleveland, and Carol Myers of Cleveland; grandchildren, Perry Kincannon, Alysse Renson, Mikael Myers, and Nolan David Myers; three great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, and other extended family.
A Celebration of Life and Home going for Barbara L. Johnson Myers will be held at 7p.m. Wednesday, September 4, 2019 from the chapel of Serenity Funeral Home with Reverend Hugh Bryan officiating.
Family and friends will assemble at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, September 5 at the Calhoun Community Cemetery for the committal service.
The family will receive friends from 5-7p.m. on Wednesday, prior to the service.
