Obituary:  Evelyn Mae Haney Teague, age 84, of Athens, passed away Friday, May 9, 2014, at a local healthcare facility. A native and lifelong resident of McMinn County, she was a longtime member of South Liberty Baptist Church. She enjoyed reading, gardening and spending time with her family.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Floyd and Vonnie Elliot Haney; husband, Marvin Teague; daughter, Gale Teague; son, Roger Teague; and brothers, Otis, Mitchell, and Jay Haney.

She is survived by her children, Lee Daniels and husband David of Riceville, Carol Teague and partner Scott Gerard of Athens, Vonnie Swafford and husband Randy of Decatur, Ray Teague and wife Shirley of Athens, Mike Teague of Riceville, Mitchell Teague and partner Connie Walson of Riceville, and Libby Eller of Riceville; grandchildren, Tina Young and husband James, Chrystal Hitson and husband Chris, Donna Hall and husband Brike, Trean Bowers and wife Hope, Connie Poe and husband Scott, Christie Marshall, Candace Norman and husband Michael, Cushie Stolika and husband Tim, Ben Jenkins and wife Diana, Sherrie Wattenbarger, Tracy Ellis, Dana Barnes and husband Alan, Deanette Cline and husband Wayne, Allie Taylor and husband Brett, and Cameron Eller; sisters, Betty Fain and husband Jerome of Athens ,Sue Davis and partner George of Athens: brother, Bill Haney of Englewood, and twenty –five great-grandchildren.

Service:  Funeral services will be conducted at 11a.m. Tuesday, May 13, 2014 from the chapel of Serenity Funeral Home with Reverend Terry Campbell officiating and longtime friend William Ownby delivering the Eulogy. Interment will follow in the Conasauga Cemetery with Lewis Teague, Brett Taylor , James Young, Chris Hitson, Brike Hall, Trean Bowers, Cameron Eller,and Tim Stoika serving as pallbearer. A white dove release will conclude the services.

The family will receive friends from 5-8p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
