Obituary: Jerry L. Plemons, age 67,of Etowah, passed away Sunday morning, March 23, 2014, at a Knoxville hospital. He was a native and lifelong resident of McMinn County and was a veteran of the United States Army. He enjoyed spending time outdoors and with his family and was of the Baptist faith.
He was preceded in death by sisters, Dora McDonald and Patsy Ratledge.
He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Wanda Plemons of Etowah; sons and daughters-in-law, Michael and Amber Plemons of Etowah, and David and Renee Plemons of Etowah; grandchildren, Riley, Landon, Cooper, and Lily Plemons; nephew Jeff Melton and wife Robin Melton; and brother, Don Plemons.
Several other extended family members and friends also survive.
Service: A celebration of Jerry’s life will be conducted at 7p.m. Wednesday , March 26, 2014 from the chapel of Serenity Funeral H0ome with Dr. Ridge Cullum officiating. The family will receive friends from 5-7p.m. Wednesday prior to the service at the funeral home.
Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be made in Jerry’s name to the Wounded Warrior Project.
