Obituary: Omer Gerald Ingram, age 76, of Etowah, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, March 18, 2014 at his residence surrounded by family and friends. A native and lifelong resident of McMinn County, he was the son of the late Arvil and Addie Ingram. He was a member of East Etowah Church of GOD and retired from J.M. Huber Corporation.
He was preceded in death by an infant son, Douglas Ingram; sisters, Myrtle Buckner and Minnie Lou Allman; and brothers, Fred, Joe, Harley, and Homer Ingram.
He is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Shirley Aileen Buckner Ingram; son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Tena Ingram; daughter and son-in-law, Michelle and Mark Ervin; three grandchildren, Heath Ingram, Emma Ervin and Brady Ervin; one great-grandson, Tyler Ingram; three step grandchildren, Jeremy, Dustin and Chris Shaw; sisters, Bertha Mullinax and Emma Derrick; brothers and sisters-in-law, Walter and Bernice Ingram and Clyde and Sylvia Ingram; sister-in-laws, Geradine and Georgia Ingram; brother-in-law, Harold Buckner; and special friends , Stephen, Amy , and Hannah Vaughn. Several nieces, nephews, and other extended family members and friends also survive.
Service: Funeral services will be conducted at 8p.m. Thursday, March 20, 2014 from the Chapel of Serenity Funeral Home with Pastor Doyle Lloyd and Pastor David Watson officiating.
Graveside services will be 11a.m. Friday, March 21, 2014 at Mars Hill Cemetery with family and friends serving as pallbearers. A white dove release ceremony will conclude the services.
The family will receive friends from 5-8p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home.
