Obituary: Rudy Ruella Roach, age 74, of Athens, passed away Saturday morning , February 8, 2014, at a local healthcare facility. The daughter of the late Ruel Cardin and Esther Carpenter, she was a native and lifelong resident of McMinn County and was retires after over 25 years of Service as an Educator at Calhoun Elementary School. She enjoyed traveling to new places and in later years, exploring her family’s genealogy.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband. Franklin Roach.
She is survived by her two sons, Jeff Roach of Westminster, CO and Stephen Roach of Athens; brothers, Bruce Cardin and wife Mary Ruth of Englewood, Wayne Cardin and wife Edna of Riceville, and Paul Cardin and wife Betty of Englewood. Several nieces, nephews, and other extended family members and friends also survive.
Service: A memorial service will be conducted at 7 PM Tuesday, February 11, 2014, from the chapel of Serenity Funeral Home with Reverend Scott Cardin officiating. Interment will be private.
The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. on Tuesday prior to the service.
