Obituary: Jennifer Lynn Hodges, age 52, of Etowah, passed away Thursday morning, January 30, 2014, at her residence. A native of Athens Tennessee, she spent the last 30 years of her life back in McMinn County. She was of the Presbyterian Faith and was a member of The First Presbyterian Church of Etowah. She had a passion for animals and music, and enjoyed spending time with family and friends. She will always be remembered for her courageous and lifelong battle with Juvenile Diabetes.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Mike “ Mushy” Martin; maternal grandparents, Robert W. and Joyce Buckner Davis; and Paternal grandparents, Roy and Phyllis Anderson Hodges.
She is survived by her son Jeremy Williamson and wife Cayci of Athens; mother, Marjorie Hodges of Etowah; father Frank Hodges and wife Leticia of Loudon ; sister Allison Bailey and husband Tony of Knoxville; nephews, Andy and Cooper Bailey of Knoxville; special friend, Joe Miller of Etowah, and loving dog, Gizmo. Numerous extended family members and friends also survive.
Service: A celebration of Jennifer’s life will be conducted at 4p.m. Sunday, February 2, 2014 from the chapel of Serenity Funeral Home with Pastor Bob Lucas officiating. The family will receive friends from 2-4p.m. on Sunday prior to the service.
Flowers will be accepted, and memorial contributions in Jennifer’s memory to the Juvenile Diabetes Association.
