Obituary: MARJORIE ANNETTE JACK MARTIN, age 75, of Knoxville, passed away Saturday evening, January 4, 2014, at a Knoxville hospital. The daughter of the late Grady and Maggie Brock Jack, Marjorie was a native of Englewood and has lived in Knoxville for the past 42 years. She was retired from the Knox County School System where she worked in Food Service and was a member of West Knoxville Church of Christ. She was a loving person who enjoyed spending time with people and her pets, Daisy and Buddy, and was devoted to her family and her faith.
She is preceded in death by her sisters; Irene Hayes, Mary Roderick, and Edna Harris; brothers, Taylor, Curtis, Ora, and Cantrell Jack.
She is survived by her loving husband of 56 years, Ross Martin of Knoxville; children, Deborah Llewellyn and husband Dan of Knoxville, Timothy Martin and wife Ginny of Woodstock, GA, Mark Martin of Athens; grandchildren, Kristin Godsey and husband Patrick of Knoxville, Katy Llewellyn of Knoxville, Michael Martin of Woodstock, GA, Erin Martin of Woodstock, GA, Abigail Martin of Lenoir City; nieces Brenda Melton and husband Darrell of Etowah, Joyce Roderick of Etowah, Mary Phillips and husband Don of Knoxville, Anita Perry and husband Mickey of Jackson, TN, Peggy Roderick of Scottsdale, AZ; nephews, larry Smith and wife Caroline of Athens, and Ronnie Jack and wife Jimmie of Athens. Several other extended family members and close friends also survive.
Service: Funeral services will be conducted 7p.m. Wednesday, Jan 8, 2014 from the chapel of Serenity Funeral Home with Minister Ron Roberts officiating. A graveside service will be 11a.m. Thursday, January 9, 2014, at Conasauga Cemetery with Brandon Melton, Connor Dailey, Jason Smith, Mitchell Hensley, Patrick Godsey, and Justin White serving as pall bearers.A white dove release ceremony will conclude the services.
The family will receive friends from 5-7p.m. on Wednesday prior to the service at the funeral home.
