Obituary: YVONNE “BONNIE” LANDRY EMMONS, age 73, of Etowah, passed away Tuesday morning , December 31, 2013 at her residence. Born in Rome, N.Y., she moved to North Carolina in 1991 and then to McMinn County in 2009. She was a member of St Mary’s Church and was involved with the Madisonville Chapter of TOPS. Bonnie enjoyed sewing, playing cards , rolling dice, and spending time with her family , especially her grandkids.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Ivanhoe and Dorothy Gouger Landry; son Robert Emmons; sister Gloria Zimmerman; and brothers, Edgar and Donald Landry.
She is survived by her loving husband of 55 years, Roger Emmons of Etowah; children, Rodnie Emmons and wife Tammy of Colorado Springs, CO, Rhonda Emmons and partner Kim Munz of Munnsville, NY, Brenda Bourgeois and husband Scott of Carrolton , TX, Rick Emmons of Oneida , NY, Donna Joselyn and husband Dale of Oneida , NY , Kimberly Oaks of Barneville, NY, Melissa Damath of Waterville, NY; sisters, Edith Emmons and husband George of Calhoun , Geraldine Eaton of Canastota, NY, and Kathy Davis of Plano, TX; brother, Dennis Landry and wife April of Rome , NY; sister-in-law, Pat Landry of West Moreland , NY; 32 grandchildren, and 38 great- grandchildren. Several nieces, nephews, and other extended family members and friends also survive.
Service: A Memorial Mass will be conducted at 2p.m. Friday, January 3, 2014 at St Mary’s Church with Father Randy Stice officiating
There will be a reception at the Parish Hall following the Mass.
The family would like to express a special appreciation to Caris Hospice, Sweetwater Home Health, the University of Tennessee Oncology Center, Dr. David Childress, and Dr. Dawn May.
