Obituary: Clyde Earl Coursin, age 96, of Etowah, and formerly of East Liverpool, OH, passed away Sunday, December 28, 2013, at his residence. The son of the late Ralph and Minnie Coursin, he lived most of his life in East Liverpool, OH before moving to Etowah this year to the home of his daughter and son-in-law. He was retired from Crucible Steel Company after 40 years of service and was a member of the 1St Church of Christ (Disciples) in East Liverpool. He was a fine carpenter and builder of instruments such as violins and harps. Twenty years ago, he passed that love to his daughter and son-in-law resulting in their opening the business Pathway Studio Harps, thus continuing his legacy. He also enjoyed spending time at the Etowah Senior Center with his friends who basked in the sunshine of his smile for a brief time.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Betty Armentia Barrett Coursin; son, Cllyde Earl Coursin, Jr.; sisters, Thema Coursin and Gladys Cunningham; and brothers, Leonard Coursin, Vern Coursin, and Raymond Coursin.

Survivors include daughter, Loretta “Jeannie” Ruthem and husband Jim of Etowah;sons, Ralph Coursin and wife Anna of Meadowlands, PA,and David Coursin and wife Gerrie, of Madisonville. Eight grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; along with several nieces nephews, and other extended family members also survive.

Service: The family will receive friends from 5-7p.m. Monday, December 30, 2013 at Serenity Funeral Home of Etowah. Services and Interment will be in East Liverpool, OH.
