Obituary: DALTON DURRELL CAMERON, age 79, of Delano, TN, passed away Wednesday, December 18, 2013, at a local healthcare facility. The son of the late Eugene Cameron and Gladys Jones Cameron Mercer, Dalton was born in Hillsborough County, FL and spent most of his life in Hillsborough and Polk Counties in Florida before moving to Townsend, TN in 1996 after his retirement. He owned and operated a printing company for a number of years and served his country as an United States Army Veteran. His passion for horses included training horses and going on horseback rides throughout the Smokey Mountains. He also enjoyed raising cattle and llamas , and was recognized by the Smokey Mountain National Park as an out standing volunteer who helped in the cleanup effort of the national park. He loved to travel and enjoyed visiting different places throughout the world.
He is survived by his loving wife , Sharon Thompson Cameron of Delano, TN; sister Delores Lacapoulos of Lakeland , FL; brother, Bruce Mercer and wife Martha of Panama City, FL; niece Pamela Potts and husband Kevin of Orlando, FL; nephews, Tim Mercer and wife Anjie if Mount Verd, FL, Gene Plunkett of Imokalee, FL, and Rick Layton of Plant City, FL. Several other extended family members and good friends also survive.
Service: The family will hold a private memorial service at a later date.
