Obituary: Bobby Dewayne Ghorley, age 49, of Athens, passed away Tuesday, January 14, 2014, at his residence. A native and lifelong resident of McMinn County, he worked for over 20 years at Mayfield Dairy Farms and was a member of Mt Verd Baptist Church. Bobby was well liked in the community, helping anyone in need, and enjoyed fishing and spending time with his family.
He is preceded in death by his father, Robert Wayne Ghorley.
He is survived by his children, Timothy Ghorley of Cleveland, Tabitha Ghorley of Athens, Stephanie Ghorley of Athens, Kendra Ghorley of Athens, and Alicia Ghorley of Chesney , South Carolina; grandchildren, Haley Ghorley, Kensley Cheyenne Ghorley, Kayden Ghorley,Braden GHorley, William Newman, Jr., Kenslie Faith Ghorley, and Bryson Ghorley; brother, Dennis Ghorley and wife Tina of Decatur; special friends, Gary and Zack Womac of Calhoun, and Jamie Ellison of Riceville. Several extended family members and close friends also survive.
Service: Funeral services will be conducted at 7pm Saturday January 18, 2014, from the chapel of Serenity Funeral Home. Interment will be private.
The family will receive friends from 5-7pm Saturday at the funeral home prior to the service.
