Obituary: Tommie Jean “ Jeanie” Jamerson, age 73, of Athens, passed away Wednesday, January 8, 2014, at a Chattanooga Hospital. The daughter of the late Bill and Annie Sweeney Hall, she was a native and lifelong resident of McMinn County, and a member of West End Baptist Church. She was served as a nurse for what is now NHC Athens and different hospice services. She enjoyed cooking, sewing, and gardening. She had a heart for others and was willing to help anyone in need.
She was preceded in death by her son, Larry Jamerson; daughter, Lagenia Jamerson, and son-in-law, Jerry Glen Mincey.
She is survived by the love of her life for 44 years, Ross Shamblin of Athens; daughter, Tammy Shambin-Mincey of Athens; son , David Lee Jamerson and wife Belinda of Savnnah, GA, and loving granddaughter, Megan Shamblin and fiancee Justin Morgan of Athens. Several extended family members and friends also survive.
Service: Funeral services will be conducted at 3pm Tuesday, January 14, 2014, from the chapel of Serenity Funeral Home with Dr. Shane Arnold officiating. Interment will follow in the Riceville Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 1-3 pm Tuesday prior to the service.
