Obituary: Rose Marie Kitto, age 71, of Riceville, passed away Sunday, October 13, 2013, at her residence. A native of New York, she had lived in the area for over 30 years. She was a member of Calhoun United Methodist Church and served as a foster parent for many children for over a number of years. Rose never met a stranger and was a caring and giving person to anyone in need. She was particularly fond of her animals constantly taking in stray and homeless pets.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Everette “Pete” and Agnes Chapman Kitto; first husband, Francis Debiew; sister Barbara Kitto, and brother Harold Kitto.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Marianne and Bob “ Rhino” Yesensky of Riceville; grandchildren Tony and Audry Yesensky of Riceville; Brothers and sisters-in-law, Clarence and Mary Kitto of Iowa ,and Niles and Eunice Kitto of New York. Special friends, Jim Long and Ronnie and Judy Cook and family, along with several nieces, nephews and other extended family members also survive.
Service: Funeral services will be conducted 7p.m. Wednesday, October 16, 2013, from the chapel of Serenity Funeral Home with Reverend Mary Parsons officiating. Graveside services will be 11.a.m. Thursday, October 17, 2013 at the Center Presbyterian Church Cemetery in Tellico Plains with family and friends serving as pallbearers. A white dove release will conclude the services.
The family will receive friends from 5-7p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
