Obituary: Steven Lynn Aldridge, age 56, of Etowah, died Saturday, October 5, 2013, at Woods Memorial Hospital. A native and lifelong resident of McMinn County, he was the son of the late Ray Henry Aldridge and Lucy Ann Debety. Steven proudly served his country in the United States Air Force and was of the Baptist faith. He retired from Eddie Miller Construction Company, when his health began to fail.
Steve is survived by his lifelong love of 23 years, Bobbie Halcomb of Etowah; children, Alicia Halcomb of Knoxville, Dustin Aldridge of Knoxville, and Colby Aldridge of Etowah; sisters, Barbara Brakebill and Bill Robinson of Athens, Rita Burgess and Neal Homa of Oak Ridge, La Vonda Matherly and Mike Cooley of Etowah, and Martha Bryan and Steve Morgan of Vonore. Lifelong friends, David McCormick and Eddie Hooper, along with several nieces, nephews, and other extended family members also survive.
Service: A Celebration of Steven’s Life will be conducted on Thursday, October 10 at 7:00 pm from the chapel of Serenity Funeral Home with Dr. Shane Arnold officiating. The family will receive friends from 5-7p.m. on Thursday.
