Obituary: Megon Creighton Rogers, age 37, a resident of Cleveland, passed away Tuesday, August 27, 2013 , at her residence surrounded by her family. She was born in Bradley County, living most of her life in Cleveland. She was a 1994 graduate of Bradley Central High School and an Air Force veteran. She was of the Baptist faith and her passions were her faith, family and friends.
Megon was preceded in death by her maternal grandfather; Joe Thompson, and paternal grandparents; Joe and Jenny Creighton.
She is survived by her husband; William Rogers, parents; Curtis and Judy Creighton, children; Hayden Compton and Hayley Madison Compton, one sister; Candace Creighton, one brother; Adam Creighton; grandmother, Rosella Thompson of Athens; nieces, Cloe, Addison and Kate Creighton, nephews; Chase Creighton; aunts, Tammy husband Steve Corder of Nicholsville, VA, Dana and husband Dan Bennewitz of Knoxville, TN, uncle; Scott and wife Joy Thompson of Athens, several cousins and other extended family members also survive.
Service: Funeral service will be held Thursday, August 29, 2013 at 7:00 p.m. at the Double Springs Baptist Church with Dr. Shane Arnold officiating.
The family will receive friends Thursday, August 29, 2013 from 5-7 p.m at the Double Springs Baptist Church.
Graveside service will be held Friday, August 30, 2013 at 11:00 a.m at the Double Springs Church Cemetery with military honors. A white dove release ceremony will conclude the service. Dan Bennewitz, Scott Thompson, Steve Corder, Wes Corder, Derek Corder and Don Biven will serve as pallbearers.
