Obituary: Mrs.Willie Spurling Wilson, age 88, of Etowah, passed away Thursday, August 8, 2013, at her residence. Born in Monroe County, “Aunt Bill” has lived in McMinn County for almost 30 years. She was of the Baptist faith and enjoyed gardening, quilting and especially her flowers.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Roy Wilson; parents, William and Callie Crowder Spurling; siblings, Billy Joe Spurling, Charlie Spurling, Leonard Spurling, Colonel Spurling, Nettie Spurling, Hattie Spurling, and Nannie Spurling.
She is survived by several nieces, nephews, and other extended family members.
Service: Funeral services will be conducted 11a.m. Saturday, August 10, 2013, from the chapel of Serenity Funeral Home with Reverend Melvin White officiating. Burial will follow in the McLane Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 5-8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
