Obituary: Marie Elizabeth McDevitt Mills Freed, age 95, a resident of Niota, passed away Wednesday, July 3, 2013, at her residence. The daughter of the late Patrick and Elizabeth Jones McDevitt, Marie was born in Philadelphia, PA, and lived the last few years in McMinn County. She was a member of St.Mary’s Catholic Church.
She is also preceded in death by 2 husbands; William Mills and Edward Freed; 7 sisters, and 1 brother
Marie is survived by her son; William Mills and wife Karen of Niota; daughter Marie Patricia “Pat” Bonowski of Philadelphia, PA; sister Betty Berkery of Philadelphia,PA; seven grandchildren, and numerous extended family members also survive.
Service: The family will hold private services at a later date.
