Obituary: Bruce Buckner, age73, a resident of Etowah, passed away Friday, February 15 2013, at his residence.
He was a native and lifelong resident of McMinn County and a member of Cambria Baptist Church.
He retired in 1984 as a Section Foreman for CSX Railroad after 15 years of service.
He was preceded in death by parents, Charlie and Ella Buckner; sons, Michael Poteet, and Quinton Poteet, Timothy Buckner; brother, Tommy Buckner, and sister, Linda Earls.
He is survived by wife: Chassie Lowe Buckner of 54 years; 2 daughters and one son-in-law, Brenda Bryson of Etowah; Darlene Curley and her husband Scott of Etowah; one son and daughter-in-law; Clay Buckner and his wife Connie of Tellico Plains, and seven grandchildren, Josh Buckner, Schonia Buckner, Kelly Cardin, Kevin Bryson, Cannon Ivens, Cassie Ivens, and Bryan Allmon; seven great-grandchildren Chase, Gaige, Blaise, Islan, Serenity, Ella, and Jacob; one Sister and brother in law, Georgia Locke and husband Eugene of Etowah and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral services will be conducted Monday, February 18, 2013, at 11 A.M. in the chapel at Serenity Funeral Homes with Reverend Jimmy Dunn and Reverend Eddie Rowland officiating.
Internment will follow at Green Hill Cemetery with Josh Buckner, Cannon Ivens, Chase Self, Bryan Allmon, Scott Curley, and Kevin Bryson.Service: The family will receive friends Sunday, February 17, 2013 from 5- 8P.M at the funeral home.
