Obituary: Jeanie Mae Coker, age 59, of Etowah, passed away Monday evening, June 22, 2015, at Catawba Regional Hospice in Newton, North Carolina. She was born in Fannin County, Georgia and was of the Baptist faith. She enjoyed spending time with her family especially with her grandkids.
She is preceded in death by her parents, John and Galdys Mae Dillard Self; husband, Larry Coker, Sr.; sisters, Marsha Self and Shelby Morrow; and brother, Jack Self, Sr.
She is survived by her children; Charles Coker and wife Amy of Kemp, TX, Jerry Coker and wife Sherry of Claremont, NC, Mindy Coker and Brandi of Waco, TX, Larry Coker, Jr. of Kemp, TX and Chad Coker and wife Tamara of Kemp, TX; grandchildren, Justin Coker, Cortney Coker, Chasity Coker, Catherine Coker, larry Coker III, Chelsea Coker, Kyle Myers, Jerry Self, Luke Coker, Breann Dennis, and Stetson Stone; siblings, Charles Self and wife Rosie of Oklahoma, Arlene Simonds and husband Jerry of Benton, Marie Cross and husband Rex of Cleveland, John Self of Cleveland, Herman Self of Cleveland and Anna Mae Millican and husband Sid of Dothan, Alabama. Several nieces, nephews, and other extended family members and friends also survive.
Service: A celebration of Jeanie’s life will be conducted at 7 p.m. Thursday June 26, 2015 from the chapel of Serenity Funeral Home. Interment will be private.
The family will receive friends from 5-7p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
