Obituary: Brent Ridge, age 71, of Etowah, passed away Thursday, May 7, 2015 at Starr Regional Medical Center on Athens. The son of the late Arthur and Bernice Ridge, Brent was born and raised in Allegheny and had lived the past 25 years in McMinn County. In his younger years he enjoyed racing cars, motorcycles, and horses. He was an avid outdoorsman and loved spending time with his family and friends. He was a member of Cambria Baptist Church.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Sonya Kay and brother, Owen Ridge.
He is survived by his loving wife of 23 years, Geneva Brannon Ridge of Etowah; children, Bruce Ridge and wife Angie of Maryville, and Gina Parks and husband Kevin of Seymour; step-sons, Greg Triplett and wife Amy of Etowah and David Triplett and fiancée Rhonda Hutcheson of Etowah; grandchildren, Amanda Masnard of Maryville, B.J. Ridge of Maryville, Kody Parks of Seymour, Savanah Triplett and fiancée Jake Yarber of Etowah, and Nolan Triplett of Etowah; great-grandchildren, Alyssa, Brooke, and Kyrus; sisters, Jean Kegley of Maryville, Harold and Joyce Ridge of Maryville; brother, Harold Ridge and wife Patricia ; step- mother, Zetta Williams Ridge;and sister –in- law, Vicki Ridge all of Allegheny.Several nieces, nephews, and other extended family members and friends also survive. Service: Funeral services will be conducted at 8p.m. Sunday, May 10, 2015 from the chapel of Serenity Funeral Home with Reverend Eddie Rowland officiating.
The family and friends will meet at 11 a.m. Monday, May 11, 2015 at the Four Mile Baptist Church Cemetery in Maryville for the committal service.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
