Obituary: Anna Lou Slack, age 87, of Englewood, passed away Tuesday evening, March 17, 2015, at the University of Tennessee Medical Center. The daughter of the late Henry and Dona Richardson Harris, she was a lifelong resident of McMinn County and a lifetime member of Wildwood Baptist Church. Anna was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great grandmother. She loved her large family and friends. She loved her church and attended until her health prevented her attendance. She taught Sunday school for several years and also taught a Sunday school class for shut-ins as well. She worked at Eureka Sewing for twenty plus years and retired from Athens Products after twenty plus years. She was a avid bowler and bowled in various leagues for many years and was a huge Atlanta Braves fan as well. She loved to quilt and travel. She made her first trip to the beach at 85 years old! All who knew her loved her and she will be greatly missed by her family and friends.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by the love of her life, her husband of 67 years Paul Slack; sisters, Lorene Webb and Ruth Grady, and an infant brother.

She is survived by:

Nine great-great grandchildren

one brother, Walter Harris and wife Carolyn of Etowah; sisters-in-law, Ruth McElhaney and husband Kyle of Englewood, Betty Rowland, Nellie Sneed, Mary Lynn Slack and Barb Slack all of Englewood, and brother-in-law, Carson Slack of Etowah.

Several nieces, nephews, and other extended family members and friends also survive.

Service: Funeral services will be conducted at 8 p.m. Friday, March 20, 2015 from the chapel of Serenity Funeral Home with Rev. Bill Vest officiating. Family and friends will gather at 11am Saturday at the funeral home and proceed to Wildwood Baptist Church Cemetery for the 12 noon committal service.

The family will receive friends from 5-7:30 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
