Obituary: Doug “Poopsie” Yermasek, age 73, of Reliance, passed away Wednesday February 18, 2015 at Skyridge Medical Center in Cleveland. Born in Chicago, he had spent the last 23 years in Reliance in the mountains he loved. He was a retired veteran of the United States Army with over twenty years of service and served in the Vietnam Conflict. He enjoyed fishing and spending time with his family especially his grandkids and great-grandkids.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Lester William and Helen Ann Piskac Yermasek; and brothers, Randall and Lester, Jr.
He is survived by his devoted wife of 46 years, Leta “Poops” Yermasek of Reliance; children, Steve Stonehous of Tracy, California, Becky Gent of Fostoria, Ohio, Hope Caughron of Reliance, and Ashley Yermasek of Etowah; brother, Russell Yermasek of Caramillo, California; six grandsons, two granddaughters, four great-grandsons, and one great-granddaughter. Several nieces, nephews, and other extended family members and friends also survive.
Service: Funeral services will be conducted at 2p.m. Saturday, February 20, 2015 from the chapel of Serenity Funeral Home with Reverend Vernon Webb officiating. Interment will follow in Green Hill Cemetery with Full Military Honors.
The family will receive friends from 7-9p.m. Friday, February 20, 2015, and again on Saturday from 11a.m. until the time of service.
