Obituary: Elizabeth Land, age 84, of Etowah, passed away Tuesday, February 10, 2015 at Starr Regional Medical Center in Athens. A native and lifelong resident of McMinn County, she was the daughter of the late Horace and Molly Casteel Tilson and was a member of The Church On The Rock. She enjoyed yard saling, going to flea markets and spending time with her family and church family.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Clarence Land; daughter, Linda Land; great-granddaughter, Alexis Winsted; and nine brothers and sisters.
She is survived by four children and spouses, Raymond Land and wife Melinda of Etowah, Rose Ann Miller and husband Tommy of Englewood, Carolyn Headrick and husband Stanley of Etowah and Sherry Winsted and husband Harry of Athens; eight grandchildren and spouses, Jimmy Miller and wife Brandy , Stephanie Rhyne and husband Chad, Jennifer Cheek, Eddie Headrick and wife Beth , Clifford Winsted and wife Laura, Christopher Smith and wife Crystal, Pam Prock, and Larry Walker and wife Carly; twenty-three great-grandchildren, and three great-great grandchildren. Several nieces, nephews, and other extended family members and friends also survive.
Service: A graveside service will be conducted at 1p.m. Friday, February 13, 2015 from Sunrise Cemetery with the Reverend Leon Devine officiating.
There will be no formal visitation at the funeral home.
