Obituary: Laquata Joyce Head, age 80, of Madisonville, passed away Thursday, February 5, 2015 at a Knoxville hospital. She was a native of Rhea County and spent the majority of her life in Monroe County. She was a beautician for over 45 years in the Madisonville area and was the owner of Fashionaire Beauty Mart. She enjoyed taking care of animals and spending time with family and friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Archie and Gladys Freeman Foster; husbands, John Patton, Jr. and Harold Head; and great-grandson, Andrew Land.
She is survived by two daughters, Pam Land and Shawn(Mike) Martin; four grandchildren, Allen Land, Jaime Borden, Sylas Martin, and John Martin; step-grandson, Steve Martin;and five great-grandchildren, David Land, Clara Beth Land, Ayda Borden, Roscoe Martin and Anna Martin all of Madisonville. Several other extended family members and friends also survive.
Service: Funeral services will be conducted at 7p.m. Saturday, February 7, 2015 from the chapel of Serenity Funeral Home with Reverend Charles Cassady officiating.
A graveside service will be held at 3:30 p.m. Sunday February 8, 2015 from Buttram Cemetery with her grandsons serving as pallbearers. A white dove release ceremony will conclude the services.
The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. on Saturday at the funeral home.
