Obituary: David H. Maher, age 56, of Palm Bay, FL, went peacefully in to the arms of Jesus on Saturday , January 31, 2015. He died at the home of his parents in Etowah surrounded by family and close friends. David lived and breathed for scouting where he received many achievements and awards to include the Order if the Arrow and he was n Eagle Scout. He earned his Eagle Scout by constructing a play ground at Rockledge Methodist Church in Florida. He went through high school in Rockledge, Fl and then attended college at the Citadel. He had spent the last 24 years working overseas including England, Korea, and Japan under government contract. He was a life member of the Beach Lodge in Florida.
He is survived by his wife Susan ; parents, Arnold and Helga Maher ; son Kelly; step-daughter Chimbie Choat and husband Adam all of Etowah; granddaughters, Emmaliegh and Gracyn; brother Mark Maher and wife Susan of Kempner, TX ;sisters Monica Losh and husband Rocky of Etowah and Lydia Young of Walland, TN. Several nieces, nephews and other extended family members and close friends also survive.
Service: A Masonic service followed by a funeral service will be conducted at 7p.m. on Tuesday, February 3, 2015 with Pastor Wendell Pruitt officiating.
The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. Tuesday prior to the services.
