Obituary: Helen “Jeannette” Armour, age 80, of Athens, passed away Thursday morning, January 29, 2015 at her residence. Born in South Georgia, she spent the majority of her life in Ruskin, FL before moving to McMinn County in 2006. She was a member of Double Springs Baptist Church.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Daisy Almand; daughters, Dana Driggers and Deborah Caldwell; brothers, Robert Almand and Kenny Wilson; and sister, Alice Wilson.
She is survived by her devoted husband of 42 years, Joseph “Joe” Armour of Athens; and sons, Duke Driggers of Meigs, County and Dean Driggers of Ruskin, FL. Several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and other extended family and friends also survive.
Service: Graveside services will be conducted at 11a.m. Monday, February 2, 2015 from the Double Springs Baptist Church Cemetery. There will be no formal visitation at the funeral home.
The family would like to thank Angela Young for compassionate care over the past year.
