Obituary: Lewis Noel Masengil, age 69, of Nonaburg, passed away Friday morning, August 22, 2014, at a local hospital. The son of the late Leonard and Clearsie Land Masengil, he was a native and lifelong resident of McMinn County and a member of Watson Chapel Baptist Church. Lewis was retired after 34 years working in the nuclear Industry and was an avid Lady Chargerettes fan. He enjoyed bluegrass music, being on his tractor, and spending time with his family and friends.
He is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Nancy Brown Massengil; children, Michael Masengil and wife Sherry, Mitchell Masengil and wife Amy, and Rhiannon Masengil all of Nonaburg; grandchildren, Alexis Masengil-King, Gabriel, Elizabeth, Aubrey , and Ben Masengil. A host of other extended family and friends also survive.
Service: Funeral services will be conducted at 4p.m. Sunday, August 24, 2014 from the chapel of Serenity Funeral Home with Pastor Bruce Poplin and Michael Massengil officiating.
The family will receive friends from 2-4 p.m. Sunday prior to the service.
