Obituary: Marvin Thomas Dean, age 53, passed away Thursday, July 31, 2014, at a Knoxville hospital. Born in Ellijay, GA, Marvin spent most of his life in McMinn County. He enjoyed spending time outdoors and with his family, and especially enjoyed working alongside his brother-in-law, Jim for over 30 years. He was a member of Stephensville Baptist Church in Etowah.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Donnie Whitner Dean; sister, Janice Spakosky; and brother, Mikey Dean.
He is survived by his sister, Patsy Spakosky and husband Richard of Etowah; brother, Dennis Dean and wife Betty of Englewood; and brother-in-law, Jim Spakosky of Englewood. Several nieces, nephews and other extended family members and good friends also survive.
Service: A celebration of Marvin’s Life will be held 7p.m. Wednesday, August 6, 2014, at Stephensville Baptist Church with Rev. James Morgan officiating. The family will receive friends from 5-7 on Wednesday at the church.
