Obituary: Virginia Rea Conner, age 71, of Athens, passed away Saturday, June 7, 2014, at a local hospital. A native of Red Bay, Alabama, she had lived in the Bradley and McMinn County Area for the past 21 years. She enjoyed participating in Beauty pageants, dancing, and listening to southern gospel music. She was a member of the Sylvania Church of GOD of Prophecy in Sylvania, OH.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Gerstel and Della Bentley Dickinson; and sister Lena Bain.
She is survived by her daughters, Elizabeth Conner of Cleveland , TN and Missy Miller and husband Dan of Athens; granddaughters, Reanna Cousino of Athens and Savannah Miller of Athens; sisters, Onice Humphries of Red Bay , Alabama and Louise Woods and husband Gene of Copley, OH, and her best friend Kathy Clark of Cleveland, OH. Several nieces, nephews and other extended family members and friends also survive. Ray Conner will be officiating the service.
Service: A celebration of Virginia’s life will be conducted 2p.m. Tuesday, June 10, 2014 from the chapel of Serenity Funeral Home . Interment will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends from 12-2p.m. on Tuesday, June 10, 2014 prior to the service.
