Obituary: Roy Lee Inman, age 80, of Sweetwater, Passed away Sunday morning, June 8, 2014, at his residence. A native and lifelong resident of Monroe County, he was a veteran of the United States Navy serving in the Korean Conflict. Roy was retired as the Street Superintendent for the City of Sweetwater. He was a charter member of the V.F.W. Post 576 and served as Post Commander four times. He organized the Valley Cruisers Car Club.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Lee and Tee West Inman; daughter, Cindy Inman; son, Clayton Inman; and grandsons, Logan Inman and Michael Poore.
He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Gale Inman of Sweetwater; daughters, Teri Inman of Etowah, Shannon Davidson and husband Ryan of Sweetwater, and Cathy Poore of Sweetwater; son, William Inman of Sweetwater; grandchildren, Nathan Odom, Coral Ellis, and Megan Inman; sister Sue Guthrie of Ten Mile; nephews, Doug Pixler of Ten Mile and Scott Inman of Florida.
Service: A graveside service with military honors will be conducted at 3p.m. Wednesday, June 11, 2014 from Westview Cemetery in Sweetwater with Dr. Keith Wheeler officiating. There will be no formal visitation.
