Obituary: Charlotte Morgan McLawhorn, age 38, of Athens, passed away Wednesday, May 14, 2014 at her residence. A native of Cleveland, she had spent the last 22 years in McMinn County. She loved the Lord and enjoyed doing things for others including knitting hats for kids with cancer. She also enjoyed reading, making crafts, and spending time with her family.
She was preceded in death by her father, J.P. Morgan, and her brother, John Paul “Peanut “Morgan.
She is survived by her husband of 10 ½ years, Chris McLawhorn of Athens; mother Carolyn Morgan of Athens; sisters, Donna Green and husband Ken of Athens, Alta Shepherd and husband Arland of Kissimmee, FL, and Jeanette McAllister and husband Eddie of Franklin, VA; brother, Ricky Morgan of Benton; sister-in-law, Pamela Barwick and husband Joie of Riceville; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Debbie and Gerald McLawhorn; nieces, Chastity Boland, Ashley Boland, Gabby Shepherd , and nephew, Lewis “Bubba” Shepherd. Several other extended family members and friends also survive.
Service: Funeral services will be conducted at 2p.m. Sunday, May 15, 2014, from the chapel of Serenity Funeral Home with Dr. Shane Arnold officiating. Interment will follow in Cedar Grove Cemetery with family and friends serving as pallbearers.
A white dove release ceremony will conclude the services.
The family will receive friends from 6-8p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
